Online applications are invited from candidates fulfilling the prescribed conditions for undergoing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1962, in the following units of North Eastern Railway

Education Qualification :
- Candidates should have already passed the prescribed qualification of High School/10th grade with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Candidates should also possess an ITI in the notified trade on the date of issue of notification, i.e., 12.06.2024.
Age Limit:
- Candidates must be at least 15 years old and not more than 24 years old as of 12.06.2024.
- For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
- For OBC candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years.
- For Divyang candidates, a maximum of 10 years of age relaxation is permitted.
Physical Standard:
- Selected candidates called for document verification will need to submit a Medical Certificate in the prescribed format issued by an authorized Medical Officer.
- Eligibility of Divyang candidates for particular trades will be governed by Railway Board guidelines.
Application Fee:
- Candidates must pay a processing fee of Rs. 100.
- SC/ST/Divyang (PwBD)/Women candidates are exempt from this processing fee.
Mode of Selection:
- Selection of eligible candidates for training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 will be based on a merit list, which will be prepared by averaging the percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination, giving equal weight to both.
- Candidates may opt for more than one unit/place. In case a candidate's merit position does not permit allotting the first choice, they will be allotted the subsequent choice.
- Based on the information provided in the application form, candidates provisionally selected for Document Verification will be called for verification at Gorakhpur and must bring a copy of the online application, Medical Certificate in the prescribed format, 4 passport-sized photographs, and all original certificates and testimonials for verification.
- Apprentice training of successful candidates will start at the allotted Division/Unit.
Training & Stipend:
- Training will be arranged according to the standards and syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council, subject to registration with RDAT/Kanpur.
- Selected candidates will be paid a stipend during the apprenticeship at the prescribed rates as per extant rules/instructions.
