   - Market infrastructure institutions like SEBI, stock exchanges, clearing corporations, etc.
   - Market intermediaries and their functions.

2. Financial Markets: 
   - Money market and its instruments.
   - Capital market and its instruments (equity shares, bonds, derivatives, etc.).
   - Mutual funds, ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds), REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts), InvITs (Infrastructure Investment Trusts), etc.

3. General Awareness: 
   - Current affairs related to financial and economic developments.
   - Indian economy and its various sectors.
   - Government initiatives and policies related to finance and economy.

4. Economics: 
   - Basic concepts of economics.
   - Microeconomics and macroeconomics.
   - Indian economy – growth, development, and economic reforms.

5. Financial Analysis: 
   - Financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
   - Financial ratios and their interpretations.
   - Basic principles of accounting.

6. Quantitative Aptitude: 
   - Numerical ability and data interpretation.
   - Simplification.
   - Number series, averages, percentages, profit and loss, etc.

7. Legal and Regulatory Framework: 
   - SEBI Act, 1992 and its various regulations.
   - Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956.
   - Companies Act, 2013 (relevant sections).

8. English Language: 
   - Vocabulary.
   - Grammar.
   - Reading comprehension.
   - Verbal ability.

9. Reasoning: 
   - Verbal reasoning.
   - Non-verbal reasoning.
   - Analytical reasoning.

10. Computer Awareness:

Exam pattern :
- Mode of Examination: Exams are usually conducted online (computer-based tests).

Salary and Allowances with Benefits  :
Pay: The pay scale of officers in Grade A is 44500-2500(4)-54500-2850(7)-74450-EB-2850(4)-85850- 3300(1)-89150 (17 years).

Presently, the gross emolument including SEBI's Contribution towards National Pension Scheme (NPS), Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Family Allowance, Local Allowance, Learning Allowance, Special Grade Allowance, Special Compensatory Allowance, etc. at Mumbai at the minimum of this scale is approx. 1,55,000/- p.m. without accommodation and ₹1,16,500/- p.m. with accommodation.
