Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule, July 2024
India Post is inviting applications for 44,228 vacancies for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDSs), including Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevaks.
IMPORTANT DATES :
- Registration and submission of online applications: 15.07.2024 to 05.08.2024
- Edit/Correction window: 06.08.2024 to 08.08.2024
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :
Age Limits:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 40 years (with possible relaxations)
Relaxations in Upper Age Limit:
1. SC/ST: 5 years
2. OBC : 3 years
3. EWS: No relaxation
4. PwD: 10 years
5. PwD + OBC: 13 years
6. PwD + SC/ST: 15 years
To be eligible for engagement as a GDS (Gramin Dak Sevak), you must have:
- A Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard.
- Passing marks in Mathematics and English.
- The certificate should be from any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India, State Governments, or Union Territories in India.
APPLICATION FEE :
- General/OBC/EWS Male: Rs.100/-
- Female candidates, SC/ST candidates, and PwD candidates: No fee.
How to Apply :
To apply for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions, follow these steps:
1. Registration:
- Visit the official GDS online engagement portal.
- Complete the registration process by providing the required details.
2. Fee Payment:
- Pay the application fee online if applicable (General/OBC/EWS Male candidates).
- Female, SC/ST, and PwD candidates are exempt from the fee.
3. Online Application:
- Log in to the portal using your registration details.
- Fill in the application form with accurate information.
- Upload the required documents (such as educational certificates, photo, signature).
4. Submit Application:
- Review the filled-in application form for accuracy.
- Submit the application form online.
5. Print Application:
- After submission, take a printout of the application form for your records
The GDS Selection process involves:
1. Online Application: Candidates apply online.
2. Merit List: Selection based on 10th-grade marks.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates verify documents.
4. Final Selection: After verification, the final list is published.
Salary :
1. BPM (Branch Postmaster): Rs. 12,000 - Rs. 29,380
2. ABPM (Assistant Branch Postmaster) / Dak Sevaks: Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 24,470/-
